2011 Mercedes SLS AMG Convertible

The rumor mill is spilling out secrets-a potential 2011 or 2012 Mercedes SLS AMG Convertible, complete with videos and photos to amp up the anticipation.

In the leaked shots online, the SLS AMG convertible features regular doors rather than the Gullwings that grace the Mercedes SLS AMG coupe version.

The Mercedes SLS AMG coupe debuted at the Frankfurt Auto Show this year, and sales are scheduled for next year.  A convertible version makes perfect sense, as the SLS AMG coupe is quite the looker, and may look hotter with its top off.

Other than the door differences, the new Mercedes SLS AMG convertible will supposedly boast the same 6.2-liter V8 engine featured in the Mercedes SLS AMG coupe.  The engine is capable of an impressive amount of horsepower, 563 to be exact, with 650 Nm of torque.

The coupe SLS AMG bursts from 0-60 miles per hour in about 3.8 seconds, so expect the topless version to lag a bit behind, perhaps 4 seconds.

While you await the release of the new Mercedes convertible, you can get in the mood behind the wheel of a Mercedes rental Miami style, or exotic rental car of your choice and explore the luxurious South Beach!
